Poem with Australian Spirit. Rhyme & rhythm may be attempted

1) Poem with humorous theme 5) Secondary 12-30 lines
2) Poem celebrating the History of the
     Australian Bush
OR expressing Contemporary Concerns
6) Primary 9 years and under 4-20 lines
  7) Primary 10 years and over 12-20 lines

PERFORMANCE:

To compete for the Looming LEGEND TROPHY, Sections 3 & 4, contestants must be able to perform in Tenterfield on on 7,8 &9 April,2006 judges will select contestants and notify them of their inclusion in heats. Tapes will not be necessary.

3) Original work - UNPUBLISHED... PRIZE $1004
4) Previously published works by other poets... PRIZE $200

8) CHILD attending school from Tenterfield Shire  to perform any poem with bush spirit, original or otherwise.
9)  CHILD from all districts and Tenterfield
      Shire to perform any poem with bush
      history, original or otherwise
      PRIZE:  1st  -$100 – Struck & Stewart

2006 LOOMING LEGEND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  1. Judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  2. Queries to be addressed to the competition committee.
  3. Late entries will not be accepted.
  4. Children's sections are only open to children attending schools in the Tenterfield Shire.
  5. Adult sections are for those 18 years and over.
  6. These contests are not open to professional poets.
  7. Except for Sections 4 and 8 all works should be original, unpublished, and not previously entered in Oracles of the Bush events. Same poem NOT to be performed more than once during the entire competition.
  8. Rights for performance of non-original works is the responsibility of the performer.
  9. Copyright of original works remains with the author, but organisers of the event reserve the right to publish selected entries, use them for promotional purposes and to have them performed during the event.
  10. Entries should be typed on one side of an A4 page. Authors name not to be on the work, but to be attached as a cover note. PLEASE MARK ENTRY SECTIONS CLEARLY.
  11. Entries will not be returned, so please keep your own copy.
  12. PERFORMANCE: To compete for the Looming Legend Trophy, Sections 3 and 4, contestants must be available to perform in Tenterfield on 7, 8 & 9 April 2006. Judges will select contestants and notify them of their inclusion in heats. Tapes are not necessary. Each heat will contain no more than 8 competitors in each section. Two competitors from each heat section advance to finals.
  13. Closing date for written entries is Friday 31 March, 2006.
